A framework agreement between the Concepcion Regional Hospital and COTH2O seeks to strengthen efficient water management

Professionals at the Guillermo Grant Benavente Clinical Hospital in Concepcion are seeking to optimize graywater management by applying efficient water management methods through agreements with the Water Technology Consortium.



In a context where new water management approaches and improved efficiency are being sought, professionals from the Guillermo Grant Benavente Clinical Hospital in Concepción (HGGB) contacted the Water Technology Consortium (COTH2O) to explore the possibility of implementing a new pre-feasibility project and a wastewater management pilot, applying methods aimed at improving water use and/or capture at the hospital.


At the meeting, held at the Hospital, were present Vladimir Guajardo, Carlos Peña, Juan Munizaga, Alejandro Nova and Antonio Avendaño, staff from the Department of Innovation and Outreach (I+VCM) and Cr Operations of the clinical center, where they presented their problems to the General Manager of COTH2O, Gisela Vergara, and the UC Davis Chile extension professional, Carolina Manríquez, to discuss the possibility of implementing efficient water use and management with the idea of ​​better managing the site's wastewater.


During the discussion, a framework agreement was established between the two entities that will allow them to gradually explore, in the medium and long term, ideas that can be implemented with respect to improving water efficiency and management, supporting each other.

 

With hope, the meeting concluded with the finalization of this agreement to seek improvements in efficient water management, creating a commitment by both parties to improve and seek water resources at a time of climate crisis facing the country.
